"The Ottawa Street Markets provide our little happy surprise of the week. Our CSA box arrives at the door weekly (in season), bringing seasonal vegetables that we feel great about, knowing that they are locally grown and knowing that our dollars support local farmers. The variety of produce in the box inspires me to try new recipes - not just the same-old, same-old! I feel good choosing and eating vegetables in season, and reducing the amount of produce we purchase at the store - i.e. reducing the carbon footprint of our produce. If I want something extra from the market, I just place my order before Thursday at midnight, and the extra treats arrive with my CSA order. Since I usually forget what I have ordered, it's like 'Christmas' every time the delivery arrives. My communications with the staff of Ottawa Street Markets are more like conversations with friends. They know me, and they answer questions & respond to requests promptly and with good humour. It is also fun to drop into the Farm Store, if I've run out of something midweek. AND it's fun to drop into the in-person market at a nearby park - there is always a good vibe, live music, and plenty of happy people. Our kids are excited to see "what Mom got at the market"!
